THE WAY

Our philosophy is health and health maintenance. Under our care and support, it is of most importance to focus on health and not sickness. We believe health is an inner resiliency that allows you to meet the demands of life. Being in a state of health helps you thrive and flourish in the face of environmental, physical, emotional and mental stress and it allows you to feel those moments when you are most alive.

THE GATE

Chinese Medicine is one of the many choices we have to achieve health. That choice is a holistic, dynamic and integrated healthcare system that activates the natural, self-healing abilities of the body. As well as, strengthen and support the body to prevent future health concerns. Most importantly, Chinese medicine views each person and their experiences as unique and individual. This makes it effective in diagnosis and treatment that has withstand time for thousands of years. For this reason, I have chosen to study and practice Chinese Medicine. I am dedicated to expanding my knowledge, awareness and practice to provide you with the best and most effective heathcare. We look forward to supporting you in Health.

THE SERVICES

ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture uses fine needles that are inserted into specific points on the body to stimulate the flow of energy in the body. It is commonly used as a preventative health care system, as well as treatment of current acute or chronic medical conditions.

CHINESE MEDICIN
Complimentary to acupuncture is Chinese herbal medicine. They are often used together in treatment.  When individual herbs are combined, a synergistic formula is created. This formula is used to treat a variety of medical condition.

Shiatsu is a Japanese style of bodywork that uses the same points and meridian system as Acupuncture to treat current health problems.  However, unlike Acupuncture, Shiatsu utilizes pressure and stretching instead of needles and is known to be very effective and relaxing for any condition.

CUPPING

FEATURED ARTICLE

The best way to maintain you health everyday is through diet.  Congee is a great way to start your morning on your journey to health and wellness.

Congee is a Chinese breakfast food.  It’s a thin porridge made of simple ingredients, rice and water.  This rice soup strengthens the spleen-pancreas. It’s easily digested and assimilated, tonifies the blood and the energy, harmonizes the digestion and is demulcent, cooling and nourishing.

 CONGEE RECIPE

1 ¼ cups short-grain brown rice or white rice, rinsed well and drained

  1. The night before you plan to serve the congee, bring 6 cups water to boil in a medium saucepan. Add rice, return to a rolling boil, cover, and remove from the heat. Let stand covered at room temperature overnight.Alternatively, to cook the congee the same day, bring 6 cups water to boil and add the rice. Reduce the heat to a very low, cover, and simmer for about 1 ½ hours, stirring a few times during the final ½ hour.
  1. In the morning, place the covered pot over medium-high heat and cook, stirring occasionally. If the mixture seems dry, add a small amount of hot water. – just enough to give it a slightly soupy consistency. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until the congee is creamy, adding hot water a little at a time, if necessary. When the rice has reached the desired consistency and is heated through, serve with a selection of the condiments.

NOTE: By starting the congee and preparing the condiments the night before, you can easily fit this breakfast into a “Rise and Run” lifestyle.

Sweet condiments:

Maple syrup or honey

Milk, soy milk, rice milk or yogurt (with live acidophilus)

Ground cinnamon

Raisins, cranberries or other dried fruits

Walnuts, pecans or other nuts, toasted

Wheat germ, toasted

Coconut, toasted

Sesame or sunflower seeds, toasted

HEALTHY SUCCESS

FROM J. SCHOEFFLER

"For almost two years, I have been a weekly if not bi-weekly client of Sheri Davidson. I came to her in search of an alternative solution to the Western panacea of just prescribing some pill to "fix it." Not only have I received results to the health challenge I was facing, but I have also experienced an almost complete body health boost. Acupuncture and herbs have regulated my daily functions from sleep to digestion making me realize how out of sync my body was previously. Also, I believe that my emotional state is much more balanced and I am able to react well in high stress situations. In short, Sheri and her services have become an indispensable part of my life and I can't thank her enough."

FROM J. SOLAND

"luckily I was able to find Sheri Davidson for acupuncture about a year ago. She had been a student of my acupuncturiest in Austin several years ago, and was highly recommended to me when I needed to find an acupuncturist in the Houston area.

Sheri demonstrates everything best about holistic healing - her acupuncture work is, of course the core of her healing, but she combines extras such as prescribing Chinese Medicine, providing reading materials and recommendations, and of course, listening and sharing with compassion and understanding.

Both my husband and I look forward to our monthly maintenance visits with Sheri to keep our stress levels down, immune systmes up and our bodies moving as if we were 20 years younger.  I can't say enough good things about what a difference acupuncture has made in my life, and how much I appreciate the work that Sheri porvides."

FROM J.HALL

"Sheri Davidson at Element 5 succeeds at replenishing my energy levels during our monthly acupuncture treatments.  Each session opens my energy path ways, allowing creativity to flow and prompting clear thinking! I'm a better employee, mother and friend because my energy is pouring out of me!  She is accommodating, offers office visits tailored to your personal needs, makes house calls and educates groups about the nuances of Oriental medicine and prevention!  Let Sheri boost your energy!"
